The Full Story
This business began with Tillie — My miniature Yorkshire Terrier, my best friend and truly my soul dog.
Tillie was by my side for 16 years. From childhood into adulthood, she supported me through some of my hardest days with nothing more than her presence. For most of my life, I knew the world with Tillie in it, and losing her at 23 meant learning how to navigate life without someone who had been part of almost every chapter.
By nature, Tillie was gentle and sensitive, and unfamiliar or busy environments could overwhelm her. Kennels were never the right place for her. However, once she knew you and felt comfortable, her shy side disappeared completely. She became energetic, playful, and full of personality — famously obsessed with empty water bottles, which were her favourite “toy.”
She was also incredibly clever. I taught her many tricks over the years, and we would proudly show them off to everyone she met — often as her little introduction. Watching her confidence grow when she felt safe taught me how much trust and understanding matter to a dog’s wellbeing.
Tillie was my shadow. Wherever I went, she followed, always happiest simply being close. Caring for her showed me how deeply animals bond with us and how much responsibility comes with that trust.
Trying to find care that truly suited Tillie’s needs highlighted how important calm, home-based, one-to-one care can be — particularly for pets who are shy, anxious, elderly, or just happiest in their own environment. That experience stayed with me and ultimately inspired the creation of this pet sitting and dog walking service.
This business is built on the belief that pets are not just animals — they are family. Every dog and cat has their own personality, boundaries, and comfort levels, and they deserve care that respects who they are as individuals.
Tillie’s influence lives on in everything I do. Her patience, intelligence, and quiet loyalty continue to shape the way I care for every pet, ensuring they are treated with the same kindness, understanding, and love she was given.
